The Number of Tiles (Linoleum or Vinyl) for Room with Angled Bump-out calculator computes the number of linoleum or vinyl tiles and the amount of adhesive needed to cover an area or room with an angled bump-out based on the area's dimensions and the size of the tiles specified.
INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units and enter the following:
(L) Room Length
(W) Room Width
(BW) Bump-out Opening Width
(BN) Bump-out Back Width
(BD) Bump-out Depth
(TW) Tile Width
(TL) Tile Length
(SM) Safety Margin (percent added to estimate)
Tile Count (TC): The calculator returns the number of tiles required to cover the area. The calculator also returns:
(A) Square Feet of Area
(TA) Gallons of Tile Adhesive (Hi - Low Range)
The Math Science
This calculator computes the number of linoleum (vinyl) tiles as follows:
dividing the total area by the unit dimension of the selected tile.
the safety margin factor is applied (default 10% to account for partial cuts and broken tiles)
the number is rounded up
Adhesive Requirement
When not using self-adhesive tiles, Vinyl Composition Tile Adhesive may be required. The Tile Adhesive range is the low to high range of adhesive requirements for the area based on manufacturer recommendations that a gallon of adhesive covers between 160 and 350 square feet per gallon.
Number of Tiles (Linoleum or Vinyl):This estimates the number of linoleum or vinyl tiles needed for a rectangular area or room based on the area dimensions and the size of the tile. The calculator also provides the adhesive requirement for the area.
