This equation computes any one of the three variables in the equation F=ma. The user chooses which to compute, force or mass or acceleration, and supplies the other two variables.

Usage

This formula is the most elementary form of the Force equation and is an important equation in physics relating mass and acceleration to a force.

We provide here a way to compute any of the three variables, given the other two as inputs:

  • To compute FORCE = mass * acceleration, choose "force" as variable choice and supply values for mass and acceleration
  • To compute MASS = Force / Acceleration, choose "mass" as variable choice and supply values force and acceleration
  • To compute ACCELERATION = Force/ Mass, choose "acceleration" as variable choice and supply values for force and mass

Examples

Mass in kilograms and Acceleration in meters per second squared result in output units of Newtons.

Mass in pounds and acceleration in ft per second squared result in output unites of Pound force
