`v_x = (Deltax)/(Deltat)`

The mean velocity calculator computes the mean velocity based on the distance traveled (Δx) a period time traveled (Δt). 

INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units and enter the following:

• (Δx) Distance of Travel
• (Δt) Time duration of travel

Velocity (v,: The velocity is returned in meters per second.   However this can be automatically converted to other velocity units via the pull-down menu.

The Math / Science

The formula for mean velocity is:

    v = Δx/Δt

where:

• v = mean velocity
• Δx = change in distance
• Δt = change in time
