Capital Gains Yield

The Capital Gains Yield calculator compute the return on a stock based solely on the appreciation of the stock. Moreover, Capital Gains Yield is a calculation of the rate of change of the stock price expressed in percentage.

INSTRUCTIONS: Choose the preferred currency units and enter the following:

• (P₀)  This is the Initial stock price
• (P₁)  This is the Stock price when sold

Capital Gains Yield: The calculator returns the capital gains yield (CGY) as a percentage.

EXAMPLE

Mr. Ombui decides to invest in shares and  originally pays $9  for a share and later sells it for $13. His CGY would be : (13 - 9) / 9 = 44.4 percent.
