The Wavelength of a Photon calculator computes the wavelength (?) based on the momentum of the photon (p) and Plank's Constant (h).

INSTRUCTIONS: Enter the following:

  • (p) Momentum in kilograms meters per second (kg•m/s)

Wavelength (?):  The calculator returns the wavelength in nano-meters.  However, this can be automatically converted to compatible units via the pull-down menu.

The Math / Science

The formula for the wavelength of a photon is:

            ? =h/p

where:

Note: Momentum = Mass • Velocity
