Mass of Square Torus

The Square Torus Mass or Weight calculator computes the volume of a square torus based on the thickness (height) and the surface area.   The surface area is calculated as the difference between two circles with diameters of d1 and d2.

Torus Mass or Weight (M): The calculator computes the mass of the square torus in grams.  However this can be automatically converted to compatible units via the pull-down menu.

The Math

The equation for the square torus volume is:

        `M = pi * T *[ (d_2/2)^2 - (d_1/2)^2] * mD`

where:

• M is the Mass or Weight of the Square Torus
• T is the thickness or height of torus
• d₂ is the outer diameter
• d₁ is the inner diameter
• mD is the density of material
