The Wavelength from Kinetic Energy and Mass equation computes the wavelength based on the level of kinetic energy, mass and Plank's constant, where:

INSTRUCTION: Choose units and enter the following:

  • (KE) Kinetic Energy
  • (m) Mass
  • (h) Planck's Constant

wavelength(λ): The calculator returns the wavelength in meters.  However, this can be automatically converted to compatible units via the pull-down menu.

The Math / Science

The formula for wavelength from kinetic energy and mass is:

`λ=h/sqrt(2mKE)`,

where:

  • lambda is the wavelength
  • KE is the Kinetic Energy
  • m is the mass
  • h is Plank's constant
