The Average Velocity based on Acceleration and Time calculator computes the velocity achieved based on a constant acceleration over time.
INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units and enter the following:
- (V0) This is the initial velocity
- (a) This is the constant acceleration
- (t) This is the duration of the acceleration
Average Velocity (V): The calculator returns the velocity in meters per second. However this can be automatically converted to compatible units via the pull-down menu.
The Math / Science
The formula for the Average Velocity based on Acceleration and Time is:
where:
- V is the average velocity
- Vi is the initial velocity
- a is the constant acceleration
- t is the duration of the acceleration
