The Diagonal of a Box calculator computes Box aka Parallelepiped the diagonal (D) of a box (a.k.a. rectangular parallelepiped) based on the length, height and depth (see diagram).
INSTRUCTIONS: Choose your preferred units and enter the following:
- (l) This is the length of the box.
- (h) This is the height of the box.
- (d) This is the depth of the box.
Diagonal: The diagonal (D) is returned in meters. However, this can be automatically converted into many other length units (e.g. feet, centimeters) via the pull-down menu.
The Math / Science
The formula for the diagonal of a box is:
D=√l²+h²+d²
where:
- D is the length of the box diagonal
- l is the length of the box
- h is the height of the box
- d is the depth of the box
