The Math / Science

The potential energy associated with a varying force is Electric Potential. The following formula is commonly used to calculate Electric Potential: $V = k \cdot (\frac{q}{r})$ $V = k*(q/r)$ where:

V = Electric potential
k = Coulomb's Constant
q = charge
r = distance

Notes:

Coulomb's Constant may be more familiar in the form:

$\frac{1}{4 π ε_{0}}$ $1/(4piepsilon_0)$

where $ε_{0}$ $epsilon_0$ is the permittivity of free space.
