The Area of a Parallelogram calculator computes the are of a parallelogram based on the base (b) and height (h).
INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units and enter the following:
- (h) The height
- (b) The length of side b
Parallelogram Area (A): The calculator returns the area (A) in square meters. However, this can be automatically converted to other area units via the pull-down menu.

The Math
The formula for the area of a parallelogram is:
where:
- A is the area of a parallelogram
- h is the height
A parallelogram is a quadrilateral with two pairs of parallel sides. The sides opposite each other (non-adjacent) are both equal length and parallel lines -- in all parallelograms. The opposite angles are also equal angles.
Like a rectangle or a square (which are also quadrilaterals), the internal angles of the parallelogram sum to 360 degrees.
