The Diagonal Pixel Resolution calculator compute the diagonal pixel resolution based on the width resolution and the height resolution of a screen.
INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units and enter the following:
- (wp) Width Resolution in pixels
- (hp) Height Resolution in pixels
Diagonal Pixel Resolution (dp): The calculator returns the diagonal pixel resolution in pixels, and the pixilated area in square centimeters. However, these can be automatically converted to compatible units via the pull-down menu.
The Math / Science
The Diagonal Pixel Resolution is used in calculating the Pixels Per Inch calculation. The formula for diagonal pixel resolution is:
`d_p=sqrt(w_p^2+h_p^2`
where:
- dp = Diagonal Pixel Resolution
- wp = width resolution in pixels
- hp = height resolution in pixels
Optics and Imagery Calculators
- Snell's Law `(sin theta_t)/(sin theta_i) = v_2 / v_1 = n_1/n_2`
- (θi) Angle of Transmission
- (θt) Angle of Incidence
- (n1) Refractive Index of Medium 1
- (n2) Refractive Index of Medium 2
- (θc) Critical Angle: Uses Snell's law to compute the critical angle based on the Refraction Indices between two mediums.
