The Escape Velocity Using Density calculator computes the escape velocity from a body (v) based on the distance from the center of mass (R) and the density of the body (ρ).

INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units and enter the following:

  • (R) This is the distance to the center of mass
  • (ρ) This is the density of the body

Escape Velocity (v): The calculator returns the velocity in meters per second.  However this can be automatically converted to compatible units via the pull-down menu.
