The Math / Science

The Flux Ratio  is the ratio of the intensity of light coming from two celestial objects.  Two different objects with light intensities (f₁ and f₂) have a corresponding flux ratio given by this formula:

                       flux ratio = f₂/f₁

The light intensities are in candelas (cd)
