If you've never had a sandbox before, there are few things to consider. First, sandboxes are a lot of fun and can keep your kids busy in a constructive way for long time. However, they will be covered with sand after playing. Also, unless your sandbox has a sun cover, your children will get a lot of sun. Consider generous application of Sun screen. Also, your sandbox should be porous with the ground. You don't want water to accumulate in the sand. Moist sand is fun to play with. Water saturated sand just gets you wet, and weighs a lot. Last, but not least, you will want to cover your sandbox at night. Animals, especially cats, may treat your sandbox as a latrine, and no one wants their children playing in that.
