Sum of Masses

The Sum of Masses calculator computes the sum of two masses (m₁ and m₂).

INSTRUCTIONS:  Choose units and enter the following:

• (m₁) Mass 1
• (m₂) Mass 2

Change in Mass(m): The calculator returns the sum of the two masses (m) in atomic units (u).  However, this can be automatically converted compatible units via the pull-down menu.

The Math / Science

The formula for the sum of two masses is:

    m = m₁ + m₂

where:

• m is the sum of the two masses
• m₁ is the first mass
• m₂ is the second mass
