The COfrom Gasoline calculator computes the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) produced from the burning of gasoline.  

INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units and enter the following:

  • (V) The the amount (volume) of gasoline burned.

CO from Gasoline (CO):  The calculator returns the amount of CO2 in pounds.  However this can be automatically converted to compatible units via the pull-down menu.

The Math / Science

This equation uses the constant Carbon Dioxide per Gallon Gas (CO2 19.64lb/gal).  This constant can be found on the US Energy Information Administration's website.
