This Volume of a Heptagon calculator computes the volume of a regular heptagon shaped objects with 7 equal sides of length and a height. 

INSTRUCTIONS:  Choose units and enter the following:

  • (h) Height of Column

Volume of a Heptagon (V): The calculator returns the volume in cubic meters and the surface area of the heptagon column in square meters. However, these can be automatically converted to compatible units via the pull-down menu.

The Math / Science

A regular heptagon has seven equal sides and equal angles.  A heptagon volume is a heptagon shaped object with a regular heptagon cross-section (area) and perpendicular height.

The formula for a heptagon column (volume) is:

`V = 7/4 * cot(pi/7) * s^2* h`

where:

  • V = Volume of Heptagon Column
  • s = Side Length of Heptagon Base and Top
  • h = Height of the Column
