INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units and enter the following:

  • (A) Area of Rectangle
  • (h) Height of one side of rectangle.

Width (W): The calculator return the other side (W) of the rectangle in meters.  However, this can be automatically converted to other length units via the pull-down menu.

The Rectangle

A rectangle is a special form of a four sided polygon, quadrilateral.  A quadrilateral is a rectangle when opposites sides are parallel and of equal length, and when each corner is a right angle (90o).    The quadrilateral below would be a rectangle if side a equaled side c, side b equaled side d, and angle α and β were both equal to 90o.
