Velocity from Kinetic Energy

The Velocity from Kinetic Energy calculator uses computes the velocity using the Kinetic Energy and the mass of an object.

Velocity: The velocity is returned in meters per second. However, this can be automatically converted to compatible units via the pull-down menu.

The Velocity from Kinetic Energy equation is derived from the equation for Kinetic Energy:

`KE=1/2mv^2`

By using algebra we can solve for velocity and see that we end up with:

`V=sqrt((2*KE)/m)`

where,

• (V) is the velocity of the object
• (KE) is the kinetic energy of the object
• (m) is the mass of the object
