Wallpaper is a common finishing of interior walls and sometime ceilings.  Wallpaper comes in rolls and often has printed patterns or graphics.  These rolls are applied to walls via glue that is applied to the wall before the wallpaper is applied.

The sizes of rolls varies. In the United States and Canada, rolls are often:

• 27" x 27' (60.75 ft²)
• 20.5" x 33' (56.3 ft²) 
• 20.5" x 18' (30.75 ft²)

In Europe, they are commonly 52 centimeters wide and 10 meters long.

The materials used in modern wallpaper also varies with pre-pasted vinyl coated paper commonly found. Wallpaper can also be found using linen, silk, grass cloth and pressed leaves.

Wallpaper must go on clean surfaces or it will not remain in place and begin to peal. Because of moisture, wallpaper may not be suitable in steamy environments such as a bathroom.
