Tuning Frequency for Subwoofer

The Tuning Frequency of a Subwoofer calculator computes the frequency based on the volume of the subwoofer box, the air compliance of the subwoofer, and the speaker resonance frequency.

INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units and enter the following:

• (AC) Air Compliance of Subwoofer
• (V) Enclosure Box Volume
• (F_S) Speaker Resonance Frequency

Tuning Frequency of Subwoofer (F_B): The calculator returns the frequency in hertz (Hz).  However, this can be automatically converted to compatible units via the pull-down menu.

The Math / Science

The formula for the subwoofer box enclosure tuning frequency is:

`F_B = ((AC)/V)^0.31 * F_S`

where:

• F_B = Subwoofer Box Enclosure Frequency
• A = Air Compliance of Subwoofer
