Several formals in the Subwoofer Speaker Calculator are based on the following formula for the Air Compliance of a Subwoofer. Air compliance refers to the volume of air displaced by the maximum deformation of the speaker membranes.
The formula for Air Compliance of a subwoofer is:
AC = `(F_b/F_s)^(1/0.31) * V`
where:
- AC = Air Compliance
- Fb = Box Enclosure Tuning Frequency
- Fs = Speaker Resonance Frequency
- V = Enclosure Volume or Box
