The Length of Christmas Tree Garland calculator computes the approximate length of garland to be strung on a Christmas tree based on its height.

The Math / Science
Mathematicians at the University of Sheffield have developed equations for the perfect tree trimming. Based on the height of the tree they can calculate the optimum number of ornaments and lengths of garland and lights. The formula for the length of garland needed for a Christmas Tree is:

where:
- GL - Length of Christmas Tree Garland
- h - height of the Christmas Tree
This equation calculates the approximate length of the garland string needed for the best coverage of a Christmas tree. This is assuming you are also using the calculated approximate amounts of lights and ornaments.
