The Performance Index Rating calculator computes a basketball metric is used by the Euroleague Basketball Company's first and second tier competition, the EuroLeague and the EuroCup.  The metric is computed as a function of numerous individual game metrics as follows:

The Math / Science

The Performance Index Rating  is a basketball statistical formula that is used by the Euroleague Basketball Company's first and second tier competition, the EuroLeague and the EuroCup, as well as various European national domestic and regional leagues. It is used to determine the league's MVP of the Week and regular season MVP awards.

The formula for Basketball Performance Rating is:

PIR=(PTS+REB+AST+STL+BLK+FD)-((FGA-FGM)+(FGA-FGM)+TO+SR+FC)

Basketball Statistics Calculators

  • Assists per Game: Enter comma separated values for the number of assists in each game (e.g., 2,4,0,0,4,5,6), and compute the assists per game average, number of games, total assists, fewest assists (min), and most assists (max)
  • Turnovers per Game: Enter comma separated values for the number of turnovers in each game (e.g., 2,4,0,0,4,5,6), and compute the turnovers per game average, number of games, total turnovers, fewest turnovers (min), and most turnovers (max).

  • Free Throw Percentage: Computes the free-throw percentage based on free throws attempted and made.
  • Basketball Scoring EfficiencyComputes an efficiency metric based on a collection of stats associated with a player or team across a number of games played.
  • Basketball Shooting Efficiency (AKA Effective Field Goal Percentage):  Computes the metric based on the number of 2 point and 3 point goals made and the number of attempts within a single game.
  • Two Point Shooting Percentage: Compute the percent shooting and total score made on 2 point shots.
  • Three Point Shooting Percentage: Compute the percent shooting and total score made on 3s.
