The Math / Science
On average, people have different appetites for pizza. The How Much Pizza to Order formula takes into account the different consumption averages for men, women, boys and girls. The formula is:
P = (M•3 + W•2 + TB•4 + TG•2 + B•2 + G•1) / 8
where:
- P is the total number of pizzas to be ordered.
- M is the number of men
- W is the number of women
- TB is the number of teenage boys.
- TG is the number of teenage girls
- B is the number of boys.
- G is the number of girls
This assumes that men will eat three pieces on average, women two, teenage boys four, teenage girls 2, boys two, girls one and that there are eight slices of pizza in one large pie.
