The Baked Beans Calculator computes the amount of baked beans you need to cook in order to feed a certain number of people. NEW: The calculator now also includes the amount of ADDITIONS that can be added to "doctor" the baked beans.

The Math / Science
The Baked Beans Calculator calculates the amount of baked beans you need to cook in order to feed a certain number of people. Enter the number of people you need to serve and the serving size per person and you will get the amount of beans you need to cook to meet that demand.

There are several facts that you can assume when figuring out how much you need.
- On average a typical serving of baked beans is about a half of a cup. If your guests really love beans you can increase the serving size.
- The half cup measure holds true for most sides, you can apply it to potato salad, cole slaw, and just about any other side you might serve at your barbecue.
Doctored Beans
ADDITIONS: The recipe to doctor beans adds 3 tablespoons of brown sugar, 1 tablespoon of mustard, 2 tablespoons of ketchup and 3 strips of bacon for every 28 ounces (3.5 cups) served.
Can Size
The most common can size for baked bean is 28 ounces (default). However, smaller and larger sizes are often available including 8.3 oz, 15.8 oz, 16 oz, 22 oz, 55 oz and 117 oz.
