The Gold Eagle Coin Value calculator estimates the value of a number of American Gold Eagle coins based on their size, gold content, the current spot price for gold and a numismatic percent adder.
INSTRUCTIONS: Enter the following:
- (CS) Choose the weight of the coins
- (n) Number of coins
- (NV) Numismatic Value Factor (percent above SPOT)
Coin Value (CV): The calculator returns the value of the coins in U.S. dollars. The calculator also returns the cumulative weight of pure gold in troy ounces, market value of gold bullion in U.S. dollars and the combined gross weight of the coins. However, these can be automatically converted to compatible units via the pull-down menu.
The Math / Science
The coin sizes indicate the amount of pure gold in the coin. The numismatic value factor, and the current spot price of gold are used to determine the value of each coin. The formula for the value of the Gold Eagle Coin is:
`CV = n*CS*s*(NV+100%)`
where:
- CV = Total Value of Coins
- n = Number of Coins
- CS = Coin Size (troy ounces of gold per coin)
- NV = Percent value above SPOT per coin
