Silver Bullion (GB): The calculator returns the amount of silver bullion with no markup, you can get for the money. The weight of silver is returned in troy ounces, grams and pounds and ounces.
The amount of silver one can buy is affected by two items, the current SPOT price of silver, which is constantly changing, and the markup from the retailer. For silver, a highly competitive markup is low, and on the order of 5% for retailers that deal in large volumes. 8% to 10% is not uncommon nor gouging from local jewelers and pawn shops. Above 10%, and one should consider looking elsewhere.
A common mistake people make is in underestimating the weight of a shipment of silver. For this reason, the weight of the silver is also provided.
NOTE: The weight of silver WILL affect the cost of shipping.
