The Relativistic Momentum calculator computes the momentum (p) as function of the mass (m), relativity factor (γ), and the velocity (v

INSTRUCTIONS: Choose the preferred units and enter the following:

  • (m)  This is the mass
  • (γ) This is the relativity factor.
  • (v) This is the velocity

Relativistic Momentum (p): The momentum is returned in kilograms meters per second (kg•m/s).

The Math / Science

The Relativistic Momentum  is found using the following formula:

      p = m•γ•v

where:

  • m = mass
  • γ = relativity
  • v = velocity
