The Concentration calculator computes the concentration of a solute based on the amount of substance and the volume of solution.

INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units and enter the following:

  • (nAmount of Solute
  • (vVolume of Solution

Concentration (Csolute): The results are returns in units of .moles per liter (mol/L).  However, these can be automatically converted to compatible units via the pull-down menu.

The Math / Science

Solute Concentration (noted:  `c_"solute"` ) defines the ratio of the number of moles of a chemical species X to the volume of a solution which contains that specified chemical species X.  The Molar Concentration is expressed in units of molarity.  The dimensions for molarity are (moles/Liter)
