CHM1

CHM1 is an online General Chemistry text.  It was developed by Dr. Kelly Neiles a professor at St Mary's College of Maryland under the name Chem 106 Prep.  The CHM1 text is an online general chemistry text that is "math enabled" using vCalc.  Each chapter has companion calculators that map to the formulas in the chapter, and the equations that appear in the text are activated such that when the user can click on the formula, a calculator will pop-up with the formula pre-loaded.  This give the reader the ability to use the formula in an accurate calculator at moment they encounter it. Furthermore, at the top of every page is a formulary box containing a quick reference of all of the formulas that appear in the chapter.
To see this, click on the following equation for the initial pressure using Boyles Law:

                                                                    pi=pfVfVipi=pfVfVi

The collections, calculators, formulas and constants with the CHM1 tag listed here are those used in the Chem 106 Prep curriculum used by students at St. Mary's College of Maryland. There are three main text resources used in the course. These include ChemPRIME, Concept Development Studies in Chemistry, UC Davis ChemWiki: The Dynamic Chemistry E-Textbook.

The CHM1 Index Collection (HERE) is an index (Table of Contents) into the different vCalc enabled chapters in the CHM1 / Chem 106 Prep Site.
