The Volume of a Footer using the Cross-Section Area calculator computes the volume of concrete in a footer based on the length and cross-section area.
INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units and enter the following:
- (L) Length of Footer
- (A) Footer Cross-section Area
Concrete Volume (V): The volume is returned in cubic yards and the equivalent in 80lb and 60lb bags. Note: vCalc provides automatic conversions into many other volume units such as cubic meters and feet.
The Math / Science
The formula for the volume of a footer based on length and cross-section area is:
V = A ⋅ l
where:
- V = volume of the footer
- A = Cross-section area
- l = length of the footer.
Area (A) is calculated by multiplying the width by the height (or depth in this case). To compute the cross-section area,CLICK HERE.
