The Pipe Volume calculator /attachments/2d80ca2e-256e-11e5-a3bb-bc764e2038f2/pipe.png                                Section of Pipe   computes the volume of a pipe (V), based on the interior diameter(d) of circular conduit or pipe and the length (l) of the pipe.

INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units and enter the following:

  • (D) Inner Pipe Diameter.
  • (L) Pipe Length.

Volume of Pipe (V):  The calculator returns the volume in gallons.  However, this can be automatically converted to compatible units via the pull-down menu.

The Math / Science

The equation for the volume of a pipe is:

V= π⋅(D/2)2⋅L

where:

  • V = interior volume of a section of pipe
  • D = inner diameter
  • L = length of pipe
