Parallel capacitors are calculated through the formula:

Cn=C1+C2

where Cn=Total Capacitance

C1= Capacitance of 1st Capacitor

C2=Capacitance of 2nd Capacitor

EXAMPLE

What is the combined capacitance of a 10μF capacitor and a 20μF capacitor connected in parallel?

Cn=C1+C2

C1=10μF

C2=20μF

Cn=10μF+20μF

Cn=30μF

.
