Irrigation

Irrigation is the process of artificially supplying water to land or crops to help them grow, especially in areas where rainfall is insufficient. Irrigation is commonly used in agriculture to ensure consistent crop production, but it is also used for landscaping, maintaining gardens, and preventing soil erosion. Different irrigation methods include:

  • surface irrigation,
  • drip irrigation,
  • sprinkler irrigation, and
  • subsurface irrigation.

Each irrigation method suited for different types of soil, crops, and climate conditions.
