The White Rice-to-Water Ratio calculator computes the amount of water in which one cooks white rice.
INSTRUCTIONS: Choose your preferred units and enter the following:
- (dwr) This is the amount of dry white rice.
Water: The calculator returns how many cups of water you need. However, cups can be automatically converted to other volume units (e.g. fluid ounces, liters or gallons) via the pull-down menu.

Cooking Directions
- Bring water to a boil in saucepan or pot.
- Reduce heat to a simmer.
- Add rice and cover pot to cook until the rice is soft (tender) and has absorbed all the water. This should take 15 to 19 minutes.
- Remove from the stove for an additional 10 minutes with the cover still on to allow the rice to steam.
