The Distance (Velocity, Time) calculator uses the equation Δx = v • Δt to compute the distance (Δx) as a function of time traveling (Δt) at a constant velocity (v).

INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units and enter the following:

Distance (Δx): The distance is returned in meters.  However, this can be automatically converted to other length or distance units via the pull-down menu.

The Math / Science

The formula for distance traveled is:

Δx = v ⋅ Δt

where

This is a special case of the more general distance equation, where the initial displacement, x0, is zero.
