The Price per Weight or Mass calculator computes the price to buy or sell a certain weight (A) of a product at a unit price (UP) per unit weight (UW).
INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units (e.g. pounds or kilograms, dollars or Euros) and enter the following:
- (A) Weight of Product - weight to be bought or sold (e.g., to buy 15 pounds of cheese)
- (UP) Unit Price - cost associated with the Unit Weight (e.g., $49.95 for 3 pounds)
- (UW) Unit Weight - weight associated with the Unit Price (e.g. 3 pounds that is priced at $49.95)
Price per Weight or Mass (TP): The calculator returns price to associated to buy or sell A at UP per B. The price will be returned in United States Dollars (USD). However, this can be automatically converted into numerous other currencies (see list below) via the pull-down menu next to the answer. The calculator also returns the number of units (nU) needed to achieve the weight/mass requirement (Weight of Product).
The Math / Science
If you know how much a certain weight or mass is valued, you can use that information to compute the value of a different amount of product. For simple example, a 3 pounds (B) of ground beef may cost $6.30 (UP). In that case, how much would 15 pounds (A) cost?

- A = Amount of product desired

- UW = Unit Weight that cost the Unit Price

Note: Mass and weight are technically different. Mass is the amount of matter and weight is the force of that mass affected by gravity. HOWEVER, since we humans almost always live on the surface of the Earth, there is an easy conversion between weight and mass, and we can therefore make easy and fairly accurate conversions between a mass (e.g. kilograms) and a weight (e.g. pounds).

- Price per Weight or Mass: Computes total cost for items measured by weight or mass.

Amdahl's Law: Computes the speedup factor for a total task based on the speedup factor of a portion of the task and the percent of that portion in relation to the total task.
