Total Cost=A at UP per B
(A)The area one wishes to buy or sell.
(UP)The unit price for an area of B of the product.
(B)The unit area that costs the unit price.

The Price per Area Amount calculator computes the price to buy, sell, lay or produce an area (A) of a product at a unit price (UP) per unit area(B).

INSTRUCTIONS:  Choose units and enter the following:

  • (A) Area to be bought, sold, produced or consumed.  For example, you wish to buy 3.4 square yards of carpet.
  • (UP) Unit Price for the the unit area (B).  For example one square foot (B) of carpet tile costs $1.98 (USD)
  • (B) Unit Area that costs the unit price (UP).   For example, one square foot  (1 ft2) in the example above.

Cost for Area (TC):  Calculator returns total cost in US Dollars. However, this can be automatically converted into numerous other currencies (see list below) via the pull-down menu next to the answer.

The Math / Science

The formula for the total cost for an area is:

TC = A * (UP/B)

where:

  • TC = Total cost of the area
  • A = Area bought, sold, produced or consumed
  • UP = Unit Price per specified area (B)
  • B = Unit area offered at unit price (UP)

Production Calculator

The Production Calculator computes the cost in time or capital to buy, produce or consume commodities measured by number of units or by length, area, volume or weight.  It provides automatic conversions between different units for time, length, area, volume, mass and up to date currency conversions between several international currencies.

Amdahl's Law: Computes the speedup factor for a total task based on the speedup factor of a portion of the task and the percent of that portion in relation to the total task.
