Production and Consumption
Production and Consumption of materials requires time and money. This library has very powerful tools to estimate production and consumption volumes over time based on the average production or consumption rate of a unit. With these equations you can determine how much volume is produced, area covered, length traveled over time.
This library also has cost tools that use the same powerful units conversions to compute the total costs based on unit pricing for lengths (distances), areas and volumes.
Production Examples
- Volume: Dairy that can process 4.5 gallons(vU) of milk every 45 minutes (dU). This calculator can tell you how many gallons are produced in 36 hours (p). The answer is 216 gallons.
- Area: Paving company that paves 450 square yards(aU) of black-top every 45 minutes (dU). This calculator can tell you how much is paved in 36 hours (p). The answer is 21,600 square yards or 4.46 acres.
- Length: Cable company that buries 450 yards(lU) of cable every 5 days(dU). This calculator can tell you how much is cable is laid in 36 hours (p). The answer is 135 yards.
- Units: Microchip company that produces 34 of a certain kind of microchip(U) every 3.25 minutes (dU). This calculator can tell you how many chips are produced in 36 hours (p). The answer is 22,596.92 chips.
- Cost It costs approximately $52 dollars (New Zealand) per square meter of carpet installed. This calculator will tell you how much it would cost to have carpet installed on an area of 29.6 meters squared.
Consumption examples
- Volume: A town that consumes 670 liters (vU) of water every day(dU). This calculator can tell you how much water would be consumed in 90 days (p). The answer is 60300.0 Liters.
- Area: A clothing factory that uses 78 square yards (aU) of silk fabrtaylor university computer scienceic every month (dU). This calculator can tell you how much silk is used on every 18 hour (p) duty cycle. The answer is 1.92 square yards.taylor university computer science
- Length: A thread factory that uses 7800 meters(lU) of silk thread every month (dU). This calculator can tell you how much silk thread is used on every 18 hour (p) duty cycle. The answer is 19.2 meters.
- Units: A hospital that uses 1,400 20 ml syringes (U) every six months(dU). This calculator can tell you how many are needed every week(p). The answer is 53.66 syringes per week.
- Cost A boys and girls camp consumes 245 gallons of milk per month in the summer. How much will one month's worth of milk cost at $0.75 per pint.
