The Volume Produced, Filled or Consumed over Time calculator computes the volume of material produced or consumed over a period of time based on the unit of volume (vU), time to produce or consume the unit (dU) and the period (p) of production or consumption.

INSTRUCTIONS: Choose your preferred volume and time units and enter the following:

  • (vU)  Unit Volume (e.g. 2.3 liters)
  • (dU)  Time to Process Unit Volume (e.g. 1.2 milliseconds)
  • (p) Total Process Time (e.g. 465.2 minutes)

Total Volume (TV): The calculator returns the total volume in cubic meters (m3).  However, this can be automatically converted to other volume units (e.g. gallons, liters, barrel, cubic inches) via the pull-down menu.  To the Time required to Process, Consume or Produce a Volume, CLICK HERE.

Production and consumption of materials over time can be estimated or measured based on the average production or consumption rate of a unit.  This calculator measures the units as volumes such as gallons, liters or cubic measurements such as cubic inches, centimeters or even cubic miles and kilometers.  With this calculator you can determine how much volume is produced or consumed over time.

Production Calculator

The Production Calculator computes the cost in time or capital to buy, produce or consume commodities measured by number of units or by length, area, volume or weight.  It provides automatic conversions between different units for time, length, area, volume, mass and up to date currency conversions between several international currencies.

Amdahl's Law: Computes the speedup factor for a total task based on the speedup factor of a portion of the task and the percent of that portion in relation to the total task.

Example

Production examples:

  • dairy that can process 4.5 gallons(vU) of milk every 45 minutes (dU).  This calculator can tell you how many gallons are produced in 36 hours (p).  The answer is 216 gallons.
  • cement factory that can produce 12 cubic yards(vU) of concrete every 90 minutes(dU).  This calculator can tell you how many cubic yards are produced in five days (p).  The answer is 960 cubic yards.

Consumption examples:

  • the town that consumes 670 liters (vU) of water every day(dU). This calculator can tell you how much water would be consumed in 90 days (p).  The answer is 60300.0 Liters.
  • the bread factory that uses 268 bushels  (vU) of gluten-free flour every month (dU).  This calculator can tell you how much flour is used on every 18 hour (p) duty cycle. The answer is 6.603 bushels.

Volume Units

Volume is a three dimensional quantity, and can be computed by the product of three orthogonal lengths (V = l • w • h) or by an area times an orthogonal length (V = A • d).
