Data Transfer Time

The Data Transfer Time calculator computes the amount of time needed to transfer an amount of data (S) via one of many transfer media (e.g. Ethernet).

INSTRUCTIONS:  Choose data units and enter the following:

• (S)  This is the size of the file or data object being transfered.
• (M)  Choose the transfer media (see Transfer Media table below).

Transfer Time:  The calculator returns the duration of the transfer (T) in seconds.  However, this can be automatically converted to other time units (e.g. minutes, hours, days, months) via the pull-down menu.
