The Probability between z SCORES calculator computes the area under the Normal Distribution curve between two z SCOREs./attachments/65767231-08fd-11e7-9770-bc764e2038f2/Normal Distribution.jpg      Probability & Normal Distribution  This equates to the probability of an event in that range.

INSTRUCTIONS: Enter the following:

  • (z1) First z SCORE.
  • (z2) Second z SCORE.

Area Under the Normal Curve (P): The calculator returns the area under the Normal Distribution curve between the z SCOREs.  This is equivalent to the probability of an event occurring between the z SCOREs.   It ranges from 0.00001 to 0.99999.  

The Math / Science

This z Score indicates the number of standard deviations an observation is above or below the mean.   The equation for the z Score is:
