The Pulley Diameter calculator computes the diameter of a pulley based on the speed at which a linear length of belt travels around the pulley and the rotation rate (R).Belt
INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units and enter the following:
- (bS) Linear belt speed.
- (rpm) Rotation Rate of the pulley
Pulley Diameter (D): The calculator computes the pulley diameter in feet. However, this can be automatically converted to compatible units via the pull-down menu.
The Math
The formula for the speed of the belt is:
D = 2• BS/RPM
where:
- BS is the Belt Speed
- D is the diameter of the pulley
- RPM is the rotation rate (rpms) of the pulley
Simple Machine Calculators
- Lever Beam Length
- Leverage Lift Weight
- Fulcrum Position
- Belt Length
- Belt Speed.
- Pulley RPMs
- 2nd Pulley RPMs
- 2nd Pulley Diameter
- RPM of 4th pulley on three shafts
- 2nd Gear RPM
- To compute the sum of two lengths
