RPM to Linear Velocity

V=2πD2RPM60
(D)Diameter
(R)revolutions per minute

The Linear Velocity from RPMs calculator computes the linear velocity based on the rotation rate (R) and the diameter of the wheel (D).

Calculate Linear Velocity from RPMS:

  1. Choose units
  2. Enter the rotation rate (R)
  3. Enter the outer diameter (D)

Linear Velocity (V): The calculator returns velocity in meters per second.  However, this can be automatically converted to other velocity units via the pull-down menu.
